  • 40+ years of driving. First BMW. Love it.

Having personally driven many cars from early 70s muscle cars, Mustang 5.0 Liters, Mini’s, Camrys, Honda’s, and Acuras, my wife and I decided that a BMW was a good car for traveling in our later years. We had primarily driven coupes with standard transmissions but relented to a sedan with automatic to be a comfortable yet performance oriented long distance car. We did not want some “old person” slush bucket and the 328i fit that bill. We bought the car off lease and it has performed well with no issues in the two years we’ve owned it. It is not a daily driver and we’re hoping that will contribute to its longevity. We are both conservative highway drivers but appreciate the additional power the 240 HP engine offers when needed. Gas mileage is good. It’s comfortable, particularly with the sport seats. The Idrive, Bluetooth, and presets took some learning but we’re on board with that now. We purposely did not purchase all wheel drive and other amenities to keep this car as simple as possible. It’s been a fun experience so far.

Having had too many cars to mention, many of them German, this car excels in performance, handling, electronics, and prestige. Lacks in interior quality and a little over priced? But would I buy it again? Definitely yes, depending on what your needs are.
